Used correctly, a footbox can assist in a range of important functions, including:

  • Reducing the risk of pressure injuries and skin shear, helping to protect vulnerable skin.

  • Providing a defined boundary to manage involuntary leg movements, spasms, or contractures.

Our Footboxes are designed to enhance both comfort and clinical outcomes for wheelchair users by supporting and protecting the lower extremities. The Footbox provides lightweight yet durable padded support that helps stabilize the feet and legs, improving overall posture, positioning, and long-term comfort.

Maintaining correct positioning of the feet and lower legs can be a daily challenge for many wheelchair users. Poor alignment may lead to discomfort, skin breakdown, or even long-term musculoskeletal complications. A properly positioned footbox helps address these issues by creating a stable, protected environment for the feet.

SOFT SIDED FOOTBOX

  • Excellent alternative to the traditional ABS footbox or sling. Lightweight with 1” padding all over to provide protection and comfort to the lower extremities.

  •  Nylon covering is a great alternative to vinyl. It won’t crack or tear and is cleanable, disinfect able, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal for infection control and easy care.

  • Velcro opening to allow for additional padding

  • Removable rigidizer in base

  • Easy to install with Velcro attachment under seat cushion and straps around swingaways/hangars.

  • Available in standard sizes as well as custom versions

AQUA SOFT SIDED FOOTBOX 

  • Aqua Style Footboxes provide comfort, protection, and stability for the lower limbs in wet environments, making them ideal for users who require extra support during bathing.

  • Designed specifically for shower chairs, the Footboxes feature built-in drainage holes that allow water to flow through easily, preventing pooling and promoting hygiene. Made from durable, wipe-clean fabric, they are built to perform reliably in wet conditions.

  • They are quick to fit, securing effortlessly with Velcro, and are compatible with all major shower chair brands that use individual footplates, including Invacare Ocean, Etac Swift, Osprey, Raz, and many more.
